Fight the cycle of genocide by being part of
the third annual ANCA / Genocide Intervention Network grassroots
advocacy campaign in Washington DC from
April 22nd-24th .
Join us on the morning of Wednesday, April 22nd for a special
breakfast briefing, and then take part – along with genocide
prevention activists from across the country - in three full
days of Congressional visits to demand U.S. action against
the genocide in Darfur and in support of the adoption of the Armenian
Genocide Resolution.
- Call for proper U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the
Administration and Congress
- Demand decisive U.S. action to stop the brutal genocide in
Sudan
- Fight state-sponsored genocide denial
This year, the advocacy days coincide with the Congressional Observance of the Armenian Genocide, to be held on Capitol Hill on April 22nd. The annual event is organized by the Congressional Armenian Caucus with the support of Armenian American organizations. On April 24th, participants will be invited to join Greater Washington DC area human rights activists calling on the Turkish government to end its 90 year denial of the Armenian Genocide, during the annual protest at the Turkish Embassy, organized by the Armenian Youth Federation.
Those interested in staying in Washington, DC for the weekend are also invited to attend the presentation of "Georgetown Boys", to be held at the Kennedy Center on Saturday evening, April 25th.
