The ANCA Endowment

What does the ANCA Endowment do?
The ANCA Endowment supports Armenian American grassroots civic participation by ensuring that our community institutions have the resources they need to effectively educate the American public and the U.S. government about the challenges and opportunities facing Armenia, Nagorno Karabagh, and the Diaspora.

Why is the ANCA Endowment holding a Telethon?
The Telethon marks the start of a landmark campaign to help our community's civic institutions build on their proven track record by developing a powerful financial foundation for the future.

What challenges will my donation help address?
Your contribution will help us to create greater awareness of the vital challenges facing the Armenian people:
  • The ongoing impact of the Genocide, most notably the brutal partition of our homeland, the blockade of our traditional trade routes, and the systematic theft by Turkey, international banks, and insurance companies of billions of dollars and countless properties.
  • The Turkish and Azerbaijani efforts to isolate and impoverish Armenia through illegal blockades and to use their geopolitical leverage and oil-industry alliances to deny the Nagorno Karabagh Republic its inalienable right to self-determination.
  • The insult to our fallen martyrs, as Turkey pours millions of dollars into a state-sponsored denial of the Armenian Genocide, teaching revisionism in Turkish schools, outlawing free speech about the fate of the Armenian people, and fighting all forms of public recognition and understanding of the Genocide.
  • The desecration of our ancient churches, monuments and khatchkars as part of Turkey and Azerbaijan's efforts to erase even the memory of more than 3,000 years of Armenian history beyond Armenia's current borders.

What types of programs does the ANCA Endowment support?
Your contribution will help us to create greater awareness of the vital challenges facing the Armenian people:
  • Capital Gateway Program: Job placement and housing assistance program for recent university graduates interested in public service in the nation's capital.
  • Video Programs: Video and audio broadcasting to Armenians around the world through cable, satellite, and the Internet.
  • Civic Training: Education, remote learning, and other technology-based programs to provide local activists with the tools they need to be effective advocates for the Armenian Cause in their local communities.
  • On-Campus Programs: Energizing and equipping Armenian students on college campuses with resources to build awareness and support for Armenian issues among students, staff, and faculty.
  • Media Program: Ensuring that the U.S. and international media report frequently, fairly and accurately about Armenia, Nagorno Karabagh, the Genocide, and other Armenian issues.
  • Resource Center: Providing think tanks, Congressional offices, and the broader Washington, DC foreign policy community with reliable documentation on the Armenian Genocide, Nagorno Karabagh, U.S.-Armenia relations, and other regional and historical issues.
  • Research: Arming Armenian Americans in Washington, D.C. and around the country with timely news and insightful analysis of the issues facing the Armenian American community.

What does the ANCA Endowment do compared to other Armenian organizations?
We encourage a confident brand of civic participation, in the best tradition of both the American and Armenian people. This translates into assertive, hard-hitting programs that reflect an enduring respect for our past, a forward-looking drive toward our national and democratic aspirations, an unbending commitment to justice, and an abiding faith in our future.

Where does the ANCA Endowment get its funding?
We receive the overwhelming majority of our funding from devoted Armenians who contribute anywhere from $10 to $100,000. The rest is received in the form of grants, memorial gifts, large individual gifts, and contributions from community organizations.

To guarantee that our independent Armenian American voice is never compromised, we don't accept money from either the U.S. or any other government.
