ANCA Strategic Advocacy 2026:
Electoral Impact | Policy Progress

50 Days Before the Midterm Elections – Join the ANCA in Washington, DC

On September 14-15, 2026, Armenian Americans from across the country will gather in Washington for the ANCA’s Strategic Advocacy 2026 — a national grassroots mobilization for Artsakh, Armenia, and the Armenian American community — organized by the ANCA Eastern Region and ANCA Western Region.

Our target is impact, our timing critical: Our two days on Capitol Hill come exactly 50 days before the November 3rd midterm elections — a moment when every Member of Congress will be paying especially close attention to constituents, communities, and causes that move voters. Armenian Americans will be among them.

We will meet face-to-face with Senators, Representatives, and senior Congressional staff. We will press for justice for Artsakh’s forcibly displaced Armenians, the freedom of Armenian hostages and prisoners of war still held by Azerbaijan, and accountability for the regime in Baku that committed genocide and that – to this day – faces no consequences.

This is our moment. This is our movement. These are the meetings. And this is where the Armenian American community shows what we can deliver.

It takes just a moment to share your interest in participating.  Please fill out the information to the right, and the ANCA Regional teams will provide additional information and the link to the official application form.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Advocacy 2026 is a two-day program built for impact.

Monday, September 14 — Arrive at the ANCA’s Washington headquarters for briefings, training, and policy workshops led by ANCA staff and veteran advocates. You’ll receive your meeting schedule, your advocacy materials, and everything you need to walk onto Capitol Hill prepared.

Tuesday, September 15 — Congressional meetings throughout the day, followed in the evening by Accountability | 2026 — Artsakh: Justice. Freedom. Right of Return  — a Capitol Hill commemoration of Azerbaijan’s genocide against Artsakh’s Armenians, featuring Members of Congress, human rights advocates, and Armenian American leaders. Additional programming will be announced in the weeks ahead.

You’ll leave Washington having met your Representative or their senior staff, voiced your community’s priorities at the highest levels, and joined a national movement at the moment it matters most.

What We’re Advocating For

Justice for Artsakh. Three years after Azerbaijan’s September 2023 genocidal ethnic cleansing forced more than 100,000 Armenians from their ancestral homeland, the perpetrators have faced no real consequences. We’re demanding the right of return for Artsakh’s Armenians under international protection, recognition of the genocide, and a U.S. policy that refuses to accept ethnic cleansing as the basis for fake peace deals.

Freedom for Armenian Hostages and POWs. Dozens of Armenian prisoners of war and civilian hostages remain unlawfully held by Azerbaijan — including former Artsakh leaders subjected to sham trials. We’re calling on Congress and the Administration to demand their immediate release and to hold Azerbaijan accountable for war crimes, torture, and extrajudicial killings.

Accountability for Azerbaijan. Security for Armenia. We’re advocating for the full enforcement of Section 907 of the FREEDOM Support Act, targeted Global Magnitsky sanctions on Azerbaijani officials responsible for war crimes, an end to U.S. military assistance to the Aliyev regime, and robust support for Armenia’s sovereignty, security, and democratic future.

“This September, our Western Region delegation returns to Washington with the moral clarity that only grows sharper with time — the genocide against Artsakh’s Armenians demands a response, and the United States must lead,” — Oshin Harootoonian, ANCA Western Region Chairman

Accountability | 2026 — Artsakh: Justice. Freedom. Right of Return

Tuesday, September 15, 2026 | 5:30 PM | Capitol Hill

The capstone of Strategic Advocacy 2026 is a Capitol Hill program demanding U.S. action for Artsakh’s Armenians — justice for the genocide, freedom for the hostages, and the right of return for those forcibly displaced. The event will bring together Members of Congress, Armenian American organizations, human rights advocates, and the next generation of community leaders. Additional speakers and programming will be announced in the coming weeks.

Who Should Come

First-time advocates are welcome — and needed. You don’t need prior experience on Capitol Hill. ANCA staff and veteran organizers will guide you through every step, from briefings to your meetings to follow-up. Many of our most effective advocates started exactly where you are now.

Returning advocates bring the relationships, the institutional memory, and the credibility that build real influence over time. Your presence anchors the delegation.

Community leaders, clergy, professionals, and elected officials — your voices carry distinct weight on the Hill. We work closely with delegation leaders to position each advocate for maximum impact.

University Students — A Special Call

If you’re a college or graduate student 18 or older, we want you in Washington this September. Your generation will inherit this cause — and the future of Armenian American advocacy depends on the leaders who step up now.

Limited need-based travel grants are available to help cover transportation and lodging for student participants. To inquire about a travel grant, indicate your student status when an ANCA regional representative follows up with you.

“Our Eastern Region delegation will be in Washington in force this September, with first-time advocates standing alongside seasoned activists, community leaders alongside university students. This is what sustained grassroots power looks like.” — Dr. Ara Chalian, ANCA Eastern Region Chairman
